I REALLY loved how we came back and defended in the second half against Furd. That was encouraging. The guys know they can do it now.
Stanford's center had hit 8 3's all year and then hit 5 of 6 against us. That was not our defense. I will bet you he doesn't hit 5 of 6 in the gym not covered. Regardless the guy is a stud and if he stays a few years and gets some size he will be unstoppable.

And they were missing one of their leading scorers Carlyle who dropped 28 on us the last time we played.

How the Furd is a .500 team overall is a head scratcher. Unless you prescribe to the “oh cool, it’s Arizona so now we will play out of our minds” motivational theory.

This is a school that nearly lost to ASU 3 nights earlier. They play with a lot of confidence against us and should. I think they are an incredible matchup problem for us in two positions. They are also incredible shooters as a whole.

Maybe, just maybe we need to play better defense like we did in the 2nd half and we would have easily handled them in both games. I think CTL is finding out how to play his roster to our advantage. Of course every team presents a new challenge and he will need to learn how to make quicker adjustments in game for us to succeed in tournament situations

Surprised Virginia didn't make the Top 25 rankings today. Winners of 6 straight ACC games, 8-3 ACC record, 17-5 overall. And blowing out Miami as we speak.

Everyone not named Purdue and UConn is losing games. And I expect those two to get tripped up a little as well in the coming weeks. Not easy to steamroll your schedule in February. Just have to learn from mistakes, try to stay healthy and keep getting better.

Wisconsin adamantly refusing to do us any favors.

Meanwhile this Bama/LSU game is going to end up 110-108 in regulation.

Wisconsin is in a tailspin. Not sure what’s up with them, especially given that the Big 10 is not among then best leagues this season. There’s Purdue, but after that? Illinois, Wisconsin and sneaky Northwestern. Anyone think one of those latter 3 is getting deep in the tournament?

The Duke and Bama wins are the ones most likely to earn us points on Selection Sunday.

We also shouldn’t neglect just how godawful the Pac has been *again* in its key OOC games. Looking forward to being in a stronger conference.

Orzo owes us one. In other news, the Branch Davidians did better against Kansas than I'd have thought.

Drew’s a good coach, clearly. And KU is probably a little over-confident at home at times, kinda like that team from Tucson.

Ohio State officially FIRES Chris Holtmann halfway through his 7th season. Given his success on the recruiting trail along with Ohio State's past successes, Holtmann utterly underachieved and probably would've been fired a season or two earlier had he not somehow worked his way into a premature contract extension that upped his buyout to $12M.

In 6.5 seasons coaching Ohio State, Holtmann won a single tournament game while going 137-86 overall and 67-65 in the Big Ten.

It's the timing of his firing that is surprising. It's disrespectful to the players, imo. Let the season play out. They could've waited a few more weeks but had to do this now? Maybe there's something happening internally we're not privy to.
